Our family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Gilbert Harold MacDonald on June 15, 2021, in Williams Lake, BC.
Gilbert was born in his parents' home in Big Lake, BC on Dec 23, 1934. From a young child Gilbert had a love for music and horses. His calm, gentle and quiet demeanor made him (an) exceptional horse man and wonderful guitarist. He would play for anyone who wanted to listen.
Gilbert grew up and lived in the Williams Lake area among his family and friends in (the) farming and ranching community. Gilbert was one of a few remaining men of a generation gone by. A man of honour, strength, generosity and kindness for his family, friends and animals alike. He carried himself with grace, dignity and pride and always afforded others the same.
Gilbert lived a full and happy life, his sense of humour never ceased even in his final days laughing, joking, and telling stories of his days gone by. Gilbert will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His ashes will be laid to rest with his late wife, Joan on their ranch in Risky Creek, BC.
May your horse carry you home to a long-awaited reunion of laughter and peace in the arms of family and friends who have gone before you.
