Gary was born in Vancouver where he attended school and obtained his plumbing/pipefitter certificate.

He had two children from his first marriage, Jim and Kris and then when he married Shelly, she brought her two, Dan and Shana, to the union.  He was a special father- always lots of time to play no matter how tired he was.   He always had time for children - his own, his nine grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews.

Gary and Shelly were married for 36 years and always loved to go camping in their trailer.  A special memory is going down the hill into Bella Coola with the tent trailer and having a flat tire on the trailer.

Gary’s later years were spent volunteering with the community police, Senior’s Village, the Cancer Society and other organizations.

Except for a few years in Ontario, he spent his time at the coast and then in the interior where he loved to fish-always going to catch the “big one”!

With respect for Gary’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Donations can be made to a charity of choice in memory of Gary.

LaPrairie’s Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements.
