It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Alan Wright at Cariboo Memorial Hospital February 26, 2020 at the age of 77.
Gary was born May 1, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Navy at the young age of 19. It was while serving the Navy that he met Douglas Charles Cavill. They would become the best of friends.... brothers for life.
It was through their friendship that Gary would meet his future wife, Douglas's sister, Helen Gail Cavill. They met in 1967 and wed a short time later in 1968.
After serving 13 years in the Navy, Gary decided to retire and relocate his family to Williams Lake, BC. He took employment at Gibraltar Mines, determined to make something of himself. It was there that he worked his way through an electrical apprenticeship and spent most of his career where he was highly respected and successful.
Gary was very kind, honest, intelligent and extremely hard working. He wasn't fancy, complicated or out to impress anybody. His goals and priorities in life were for the love of his life Helen, their children and loved ones.
Gary is survived by and will be greatly missed but, forever loved and remembered by his beautiful wife of 53 years Helen Gail Wright; children Richard Charles Wright, Lisa Linneah Tarangul and Corey Alan Wright; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As per Gary's wish no formal funeral service will be held.
