In loving memory ~
Gala-Mae Johnson passed away on November 23, 2024 at 80 years old. She and husband Rennie celebrated 60 years of marriage in September of this year. She lived in Williams Lake for 77 years.
Losing her eldest son Erik was a wound to her heart, but he and Rena gifted her with two remarkable grandchildren, Natasha and Lukas. When Monica married Mike Fradette, the circle expanded to include his two daughters, Ashley and Samantha. Karl and Nadine Swift added two more wonderful grandkids, Ava and Mitchell. Gala-Mae fondly called Bob Lowen her adopted son and part of the family.
Gala-Mae was the eldest of "the Imhoff girls". Karen, Vicki and Debra each had their own unique relationship with her, bonded as siblings are through life's challenges and victories.
The family deeply appreciates the staff at the Hillside Centre in Kamloops, who provided Gala-Mae with the best possible quality of life imaginable in her final months. The staff at Cariboo Memorial could not have been kinder and more compassionate to her and the family during her time with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
