Florence E (Solmonson) Wilson passed away quietly early morning of December 29th, 2016 at Cariboo Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. She was born May 21, 1922 at Churchbridge, Sask. She grew up around Prince George and spent most of her life in PG and Williams Lake. Florence married Alva E. Wilson July 5, 1941 in Prince George when he was in the army.

She is survived by her children Donald (Merriam) Wilson, Carol Wilson, Larry (Eileen), and Johnny Wilson, sister Phyllis Peterson and sister-in-law Phyllis Pylatiuk; grandchildren April Grant, David Wilson, Wendy Warttig, Wesley Wilson, Holly Henry, Leonard and Russel Wilson, AJ, Steven, and Jessy Wilson, plus great grandchildren and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

She is predeceased by her husband Alva Wilson (1918-1980) parents Johan and Emma (Norden) Solmonson and siblings Myrtle Wilson, John, Kenneth, Clarence, Sandy and Gordon Solmonson, and grandson Autrey Wilson.

After her children were grown she worked at the Lakeview Hotel desk for 25 years.

Over the years she opened her house and her heart to many relatives and their friends. Her gentle guidance affected so many of our lives and showed us the path we should be taking even if we didn’t always listen. Regardless she could always find something positive to say about any situation.

Family members Wendy, Larry, Phyllis, and Lorie took turns sitting with her around the clock to keep her company for the last three days of her life.

She will be greatly missed by all her family but especially grandchildren Wesley Wilson and Wendy Warttig whom she helped raise.

A memorial will be held May 20, 2017 at her nephew Ken and Sam Wilson’s place at Felker Lake. All family and friends are invited to attend.
