July 26, 1933 - September 3, 2021
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Fernande "Fern" Fuller, on Friday September 3rd, 2021, at the age of 88 years. Fern was born July 26th, 1933 in Ituna, Saskatchewan. The original fashionista: a woman far too glamourous for the small towns in which she came to reside. Fern was a glorious hybrid of Scarlet O'Hara and Elizabeth Taylor, striking in appearance, with a personality that never failed to charm.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Teri Ann, Jon (Yoli), Walter/Rusty (Yvonne), Gladstone (Violet); grandchildren: Crystal (Rob), Martin, Angela, Trista Rose (Michael), Walter/Robert, Kiara, Ava; step grandchildren, Kyle, Brett; great grandchildren: Kendell, Shaquelle, Wyatt, Alaina, Talia, Shanelle; one great, great grandchild; and brother, Roland Neault.
She was predeceased by her exasperated but loving husband of 43 years, Walter Henry (Red); daughter, Christine Suzanne (Suzie); brother, Alva Orilien (Red); and parents, Joseph Williams John Neault and Rose Marguerite Bolduc (Hamelin).
Fern was extraordinarily gifted. She was an accomplished artist, excelling in both oil paints and pastels. She was often commissioned for her landscape painting of the Chilcotin landscape, as well as her pastel portraiture. But it is perhaps her work as a seamstress in which she is best known. Her talents we hard to surpass; no one could get a bridal gown bodice to fit quite like her. Fern sewed and altered hundreds of wedding gowns, prom dresses, and formal attire for the people of Williams Lake for 40 years. All the while, finding time to sew countless "outfits", as she called them, for her children and grandchildren, ensuring they were the best dressed children at any social gathering or school photo day.
Her talents knew no bounds, nor did her love for her children, grandchildren, and Brad Pitt. Fern would ride into the room on a wave of Chanel No.5, her signature scent, and dazzle all within with her infectious laugh, snappy remarks, and flair for the dramatic. A firm believer that one could never be overdressed, even if going to the ballpark, and that if shoes were on sale, one was to leave the store with at least two pairs.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the amazing care, love and compassion that dear friend, Dave Munro, provided Fern in her last few years. Dave, you enriched her days and cared for her as if she was your family, for this we are forever grateful.
A celebration of Fern's life will be held later next year, in the summer. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a charitable donation be made in Fern's honor to the SPCA at https:// spca.bc.ca/donate/
