It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our wife and mother Evelyn Patricia (Flynn) Foster on October 10, 2019, aged 88. Pat is survived by her husband Walter, and children Pegge (Rob), Walt(Carol), Sue(Les), seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
We will remember her untiring devotion to her family, her willingness to always help others, her unfailing kindness, and wonderful sense of humour. She loved teaching and helping her children and grandchildren with their Correspondence School courses, and had an insatiable curiosity about everything, which she loved to share with dictionary or encyclopedia in hand.
Her life began in California during the depression. Starting her first job at age 13 in an office in San Francisco, she went on to become a registered nurse. With courage, she accompanied her husband Walt to the Chilcotin to pursue ranching life in 1961, three small children in tow. Although she was a city girl, she bravely embraced remote living with grace and perseverance. She loved her garden and her flowers and strove to make the best life for all whose lives she touched. We will miss her forever and joyfully see her legacy living on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
