December 28, 1922 ~ August 16, 2017

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family and friends of E.M. Haynes (Mary) of Hope B.C. formerly of Tatlayoko Lake B.C. announce her peaceful passing on August 16, 2017 at the age of 94.

Mary was born in London England on December 28, 1922. She met her husband to be Ken Haynes of Tatlayoko Lake serving in Africa in World War II to later marry in 1947. They lived in Tatlayoko Lake where they ranched and raised their family. They relocated to Hope B.C. in 1973 and became active in their new community.

This gentle lady touched the hearts of many in the communities she lived in as she volunteered generously with her smile and gentle voice at every function she could possibly attend. Mary maintained a sound mind and active life as she lived in the comfort of her own home until the end.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Ken and grandson Robert (Rob).

She is survived by her three sons, Stephen of Vancouver, B.C., Ross (Carol) of Williams Lake, B.C. and Glenn (Judy) of Wainwright, Alberta. Four grandchildren, Crystal (Mark) Coleman, Curtis Haynes, John (Danielle) Haynes, Lisa Haynes (Brad). Seven great-grandchildren Connor, Robin, Abigail, Ava, Lincoln and Luke, Ella.

She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at Golden Agers Hall in Hope B.C. on September 1st at 1:00-3:00pm.

Your flowers that we all loved so much,

that seem to grow from your gentle touch.

Down here on earth your chores are through,

but heaven’s gardens need attention too.

Hope you find the time to rest,

as heaven’s flowers need the best.

This town will no longer see you roam,

as the good lord has now called you home.
