Born February 22, 1934, Betty Meldrum passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Williams Lake Senior Home on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Dear mother to son Willie (Becky) Meldrum, daughter Bev (Spencer) Atkins and lovingly raised as her own son, Jack (Nora) Meldrum. Loving sister of late Bill Lacroix, late Rene Lacroix (Barbara Elliott), Shirley Harvey (Normand), Kenneth Lacroix (Lillian), Beverly Noel (Roger), Jacqueline Turnbull (Conway), Albert Lacroix, Gail Condratto (Michael), late Gordon and late John Baptiste Lacroix. Dear daughter of the late Harry and Bella (née Bell) Lacroix.
Betty will be remembered by her grandchildren including; Tanya (Tim) Meldrum/Seaward, Tina (Steve) Partington, Dylan Meldrum (Katie Williams) and Justin Meldrum (Gina Oler). Jacks' children include: Joe Lee, Rodney, Justin, Jack JR, Christina, Racine and Kyle Meldrum. Ryan (Nicole) Hatt and Carmen (Billy) Hatt/Bateman joined the family in their early years and were quickly adopted into the family by Grandma Betty.
Great grandchildren include; Mason and Colton Seaward and Jordelle and Zailee Partington. Alyssa, Ethan, Gabe, Ava Hatt and Clayton, Aiden, Chase, Katalena Bateman. Betty was looking forward to welcoming another great grandchild due in February to Dylan and Katie.
Betty has numerous nieces and nephews throughout BC and Ontario. Special mention to those whom lived with the family at some point in their lives and this includes Larry Frost, Linda Lou Howarth and Leona Meldrum.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the support staff including nurses, care aids and Dora at the Williams Lake Seniors home for their care and compassion they provided to our mother over the past year.
Her sense of humor, spunk and laughter will be missed by many.
Her life will be celebrated when we can gather again. Memorial donations can be made to the BC Seniors Games Society, Zone 9, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Betty attended the Seniors Games four times and received medals for crib each time she participated. Her last trip included a Gold Medal!
