It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and devoted friend, Elizabeth (Beth) Margaret Locke (Oakley). On Monday, April 20th, 2009 in Campbell River, British Columbia, Beth lost her short battle with cancer at the age of 62.
Beth was predeceased by her son Jamie, brother John and parents Vera and Herbert Oakley. Beth leaves behind her 4 children; Richard (Candice), Shari (Dave), Craig (Laurie) & Shawn (Tracey). Her beautiful grandchildren include Taylor, Sara, Zack, Hannah & Jett. Her devoted sister Patricia Anne (Pat) Salter & family and the entire Paddington family.
Beth was born in Stratford, Ontario on May 15th,1946, moving to British Columbia in the seventies to raise her family in Campbell River.
Beth was devoted to the Salvation Army for many years. She will be deeply missed by so many lives she touched. The Campbell River garden contest will miss last year’s champion.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sutton’s Funeral Chapel, 502 S. Dogwood Street, Campbell River, on Saturday, April 25th, 2009 at 10:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation in Beth’s name. Memorial tributes may be left at www.MeM.com
