Bets slipped away, battling Pneumonia, she will be greatly missed by her daughter Gail, Pre-deceased by husbands S.T. Wilson, Ralph Neff, J.R. Bezanson, Darling son Wayne of 2 1/2 years.; all five siblings, but sister Joan Szabo, 95. Beloved Mom to daughters Gail, Denise (Ron), Sherry (Duncan), Step-son Ron Wilson (Dee), granddaughter Jill Kryskl (Jeff) and Great Grandson Joe.
Bets was born in Argentina, the family moved to Sorreoto and bought a farm overlooking Shuswap Lake. Mom loved the farm and her horse prince. She was a strong swimmer and often swam out to Copper Island over 1 mile away.
After the financial crash, she moved to Vancouver to find work. She met and married Jim Bezanson. They were outdoors people, hiking, sailing, big game hunting, fishing and skiing. Bets was an avid skier downhill racing in her youth and still skiing in her 80's. She lost her 2nd husband Ralph in a hunting accident, 5 years after they were married. It nearly broke her heart. Later, she met Stew, they were together 36 years. She still skied every winter, they hunted, fished, river boated and took many trips in the old Airstream Trailer 94. She was an amazing gardener, wonderful cook, made the best jams and preserves. Bets had an amazing ability to find joy in life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Many thanks to all family and friends, to Dr. Rees, Dr. Schrene, all the wonderful staff at Deni House, for the loving care shown to Mom.
To Charlene, Kelly, Kirsten, Arlene, Tammy, Janet, Angela for helping keep Mom at home, for as long as we could. To longtime friend Cathie, for all her visits, to Kulwinder and Bunny for all their care and visits. Special thanks to Kulwinder who did amazing things with Mom's hair! And to Heather, who made her last spring so wonderful. No service by request.
