Edith Fawcett (nee Featherston) passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021. Born on Sept. 2, 1927 in Fairview, Alberta, she graduated from the nursing program at Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton. Edith & Charles (predeceased) settled in Williams Lake in 1954 raising their children; Bill (Minette), Lorraine (John), Fred (Denean) & Anita (Jeff).
She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Brent, Kirby, Tamara, Brendan, Chantelle, Ryan, Ben, Trevor & Nick and her great granddaughters; Claire, Charlotte & Rylan (predeceased).
Edith was a valued volunteer for many community organizations including the Christian Women's Association, Jubilee Home Society, M.A.D.D., Mental Health Association, Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin, OAPO, St. Andrew's United Church, Williams Lake Crisis & Counselling Centre, Williams Lake Environmental Society and the Williams Lake Hospice Society,.
Edith was honoured as the 1983 Williams Lake Rotary Citizen of the Year for her many contributions to her community.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cariboo Place for the loving care Edith received.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mental Health Association of BC or the Williams Lake Hospice Society would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
