Tommy Denny came into her life and they were married in 1956. Their children are Donna (Gerry) McCulley, Norman Denny and Mark Denny (Gina Calabrese); the grandchildren are Tyson Denny (Amy), Brittany Denny (Mackenzie) and Nico Ainley (Ali).
In 1977 Dorothy and Tom opened Cariboo Saddlery. After Tom's death, Dorothy continued with her son, Mark, as partner and worked until full retirement in 2015 at age 85.
Dorothy was very active in St Peter's Anglican Church; she served as church organist/pianist and also as treasurer for many years and on many committees. She enjoyed many years of service with the International Women's Institutes.
Dorothy and Tom enjoyed trips to Reno and many years to the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton with Willy and his bus crew. In later years she travelled to Scotland, Hawaii, a cruise to Alaska and many trips around BC.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Tom in 1995, Tom's parents Tom & Alice Denny, sister-in-law Audrey Rodger; her parents Andy and Doris Spowart, brother Mel Spowart and sister-in-law Joy Spowart.
A private family graveside service will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church at a later date when Covid restrictions are lifted. Thanks very much to all Dorothy's care-givers over the past years at the Williams Lake Seniors Village as well as her friends from St. Peter's.
