July 29, 1931 - June 3, 2020
It is with deep sadness that the family of Dora Schuetze (nee Nelson) announces her passing on June 3, 2020 at the age of 88.
Born to George and Mary Nelson in Bella Coola, BC on July 29, 1931. Dora met the love of her life Gideon Schuetze, the United Church Minister's son where she sang in the church choir. Marriage and a whole new life of raising their four sons and two daughters was the main focus of her time. Dora moved with Gideon and family to many different places such as Keremeos, Cawston, Dog Creek Airport and Quatsino before settling in Williams Lake in 1970 where Gideon established an airline business that he also piloted for Sharp Wings Limited (formerly Wilderness Airline.)
In addition to her family, Dora held a deep love of music and accomplished the art of many instruments including the organ, piano, accordian, guitar, mouth organ and omnichord.
She also loved knitting and crocheting and used to knit wool cowichan sweaters to order and knitted and gifted many family members with beautiful handmade toques and sweaters.
Dora was an avid church goer and worshipped Jesus as her best love, even in her last earthly breath. Dora is survived by her husband Gideon and their children Rolf (Marie), David, Connie (Danny), Barbara, Mark and Grant and her sister Violet and sister-in-law Doris as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
