Don was born in Abbotsford, BC on September 15, 1948 to Bob and Jeanette Boyes. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Kelowna General Hospital, December 2, 2021, after having complications from surgery in Kamloops General Hospital.
Don married Anna Rushton in Likely, BC, on November 13, 1981 and they raised two children together.
He was predeceased by his parents, former wife Anna, his son Shane, his brother Brian and his sister Cindy Monsen (Boyes).
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Fabiola (Faby) Siqueiros Flores; daughter, JodyStratton (Dan) of Williams Lake, his grandchildren Jordan, Devin and Stephanie and great granddaughter Alianna.
He is also survived by his brothers, Gary (Sherri, predeceased), Bill (Mia), Ken (Adele), his sister DeeDee Tarling (Len), and many nieces and nephews.
Don resided in Likely most of his life where he did many things including: a logging entrepreneur, heavy duty mechanic, grader operator and gold miner. He was passionate about placer mining and spent many years in partnership with his wife Anna operating a gold mine near Quesnel Forks.
Since he was a young adult, he had an unwavering desire to explore Mexico and in his later years enjoyed his life there as his second home in the winters.
Don was a strong, courageous, big hearted, free-spirited individual who lived life to its fullest. He always had time for anyone who needed a helping hand.
He will be remembered for his great abilities as he could fix just about anything, but best of all by his friendship.
A celebration of life will be held in the Summer of 2022, date to be announced.
