Djynase Heloise (Jan) Aikin, the widow of Charles John Aikin died of cancer February 15th, at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home in Kamloops.


Djynase, who enjoyed robust good health nearly all her life, began being treated for cancer in the fall of 2015, while continuing her daily routines in her fiercely independent style. The disease grew progressively worse and she entered hospice February 12th with her two daughters and best friend at her side. Djynase passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 15th.


She is survived by her daughters Debbie and Cherri, and her nine grandchildren. Djynase was predeceased by her sons, Pat and Lee Phillips, her adoring husband Charles Aikin and siblings Delores Coupal and Mickey Young.


Jan’s uniqueness sparkled throughout her life leaving a beautiful spirit of creativity and imagination in her path.
