With the heaviest of hearts and the fondest of memories, we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Glenn Lawtey at the age of 84. Dennis is survived by his loving wife Patricia Caroline of 62 years, his three sons Paul, Robert and Douglas (Michelle), seven grandchildren; Dustin, Jennifer, Tyler, Patrick, Dallas, Jake and Cade, one great grandchild Daniel and his brother George Lawtey. He was predeceased by his father George Lawtey, mother Margaret Marshall and brother David Lawtey.
Dennis was born in Vancouver on August 22, 1935, the eldest of three children. He met Patricia, his sweetheart, and later they married on August 30, 1957 in Vancouver. Dennis enlisted in the RCAF and became a radar technician with postings in Comox, BC, Trenton Ont, Toronto Ont, Cold Lake AB, Portage La Prairie Man and finally Baldy Hughes BC in 1977. With this final posting he moved his family to Williams Lake and commuted weekly to Prince George. It was this final move that Dennis and Patricia bought a house and took root in the community never to move again.
Dennis took up piano in his retirement and eventually performed at several recitals. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his wife at their property at Rose Lake.
