Delbert Larry Stenberg of Lac La Hache, BC, passed away peacefully in Kamloops, BC Dec 20th, 2018 at the age of 69 years. Del was born in Benito, MB to Albert and Alice Stenberg. Del was born a hardworking man and met the love of his life Rose Lylyk at a pool hall in 1967. Less than two years later Del & Rose were married Feb 22, 1969 and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this coming February. Del loved to fish and hunt and being outside mucking around always fixing something or checking on something on the family resort, Kokanee Bay Motel & Trailer Court. He was a paver operator and worked on probably every road in BC and many in Alberta also for 23 years. His greatest treasures were 'his Rosie' and his daughters Paula and Tammy, grandchildren and great-grandson.
Del is survived by wife, Rose, daughters: Paula (Ricky), Tammy (Trevor), grandchildren: Kayla, Devon (Chris), Colton, Dylan, Jordan, and great- grandson Damien, and siblings: Eleanor (Ken), Lyle (Fran), Daphne, Vern (Donna), Janice, and numerous nieces and nephews. Del was predeceased by father, Albert in 1976, mother, Alice in 2007, sister Twyla in 1965, brothers Doug in 1986, Les in 2014 and niece Jennifer in 2002
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Kamloops Hospital for the most amazing nursing staff and doctors for assisting in caring for Del on his final few days.
Cremation was held in Williams Lake, BC. The funeral service was held at 1:00 pm, Dec 29th, 2018 at the Lac La Hache Community Club, BC with Bruce Wilcox officiating.
