1962 ~ 2017

Dean passed away peacefully February 2, 2017.

Forever in our hearts.

Dearly missed by wife Kathleen Wittenberg, sons Matthew, Jake, daughter Lindsay (Travis), granddaughter Ella, Mom Nancy (Rob), siblings Wendy (Rob), Bob, so many relatives and many, many friends.

Dean was born in Quesnel BC to John and Nancy. He spent all his life in the Cariboo. At a young age Dean began working in the logging industry as an equipment operator, he spent many years as a heli-faller, where he worked all over BC. He eventually returned to equipment operator.

In the early 80s Dean began motocross racing, his enthusiasm for the sport took him to the podium many times. Perhaps too much passion, the last race of one season he rode with a broken leg. He came in 2nd. He raced all over Western Canada, including BC Super-Cross in BC Place. Dean enjoyed fishing steelhead and sturgeon with his buddies.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Celebration of Life may he held at a later date.
