In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that the family of Dean Halfnights announce his passing on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the age of 80. Dean passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He will be sadly missed by his wife Sharon, son Jeff (companion Jen), son Darren (wife Leah), grandchildren Thomas Fergusson, Rylan & Ellie Halfnights, sister Jill Goodrich (companion Gordon), four nephews and his niece.

He was predeceased by his parents Betty and Boyd Halfnights and his brother Farrell (Ann survives).

Dean worked in the sawmill industry filing saws for nine years in the Lower Mainland where he met and married Sharon (Reid) and started a family. He returned to Williams Lake in January 1977 with his family, to work for Pinette + Therrien as Head Saw Filer at the studmill and retired in April 2000 from Riverside (Soda Creek Div.) the same mill site. It had changed ownership from P&T to BCFP, Fletcher Challenge, Timberwest and then Riverside.

Dean was a member of Williams Lake Lions Club for many years.

A celebration of life will be held at the W. L. Alliance Church on February 21, 2025, at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the SPCA or charity of choice.

Many thanks to all the staff at Cariboo Memorial Hospital and the Ambulance attendants for their kindness and compassionate care.
