Sherwood

May 27, 1932 - January 18, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He fought a valiant 7 year battle with colon cancer during which time he won a few battles and was able to enjoy some respite. He was born in Saltspring, N.B., came out west in the 1950’s looking for work and remained in the area till his retirement. Mainly working at various mills such as P & T. He was the second oldest of four children born to Jessie and Elmer Sherwood. He is survived by sister Esther Dulong and predeceased by brother Vernon Sherwood, sister Eldora Martin and his infant son Curtis. He leaves his wife Ruby, three sons, Jarvis (Debbie), Danny (Debbie), Michael (Marilou), stepson, Shaun Hadden, three daughters, Fern (Rick), Bonnie (Roy), Tammy, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-granddaughters and at last, this month a great-grandson, seven nephews in B.C., three nephews and three nieces in N.B. and a niece in Alberta. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a great propensity for making friends of which he had many. He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his partner and soulmate of thirty-four years. A celebration of life will be held May 27th at a place and time to be announced at a later date. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
