Nov 3, 1943 - May 8, 2018
David loved his high school sweetheart and wife Elaine (married June 27, 1964), more deeply than most could imagine. He was an amazing father to his children Amanda and her husband Carlos Laranjo, and his son Jeffrey.

He loved and found pure joy in his grandchildren Maddy and Zack Laranjo, Dryden, Sawyer, and Reece Hunt and their school and athletic pursuits. He shared his humour and kindness with his many friends and Placer Dome colleagues in Lillooet, North Vancouver, Merritt, Fraser Lake, Williams Lake (where he and Elaine raised their family), Perth Australia, Cairns Australia, Timmins Ontario, and most recently in Vernon, BC where he and Elaine retired alongside his sister Allison, brother-in-law and dear friend Marck Peterson, and sister Carol.

He loved golf, was a passionate spectator of all sports and always felt privileged to see the world through his work but his most favorite pastime was to be with his family. Comforted by his friends and family, David lost his fight to cancer and is now resting peacefully with his mother Jean Barclay, father Melville Hunt, brother Jean and sister Leanne, brother-in-law and friend Alexander Flatman, and his mother and father-in-law Mabel Merke and Walter Flatman.

Dad - you lived a good life and you set the standard for the next generations of Hunts and Laranjos. There will not be an official service as per Dad's wishes.
