Chris Perras, age 80, passed away on April 28, 2021. Growing up in the Prairies, she met the love of her life Don Perras and together they moved throughout British Columbia, eventually settling in the Williams Lake area.
Chris was a dedicated mother who embraced every moment with her children. She especially loved being a Nana, a role that eventually moved her to Campbell River to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Her life was a living example of service before self. While raising her family, she volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Candy Striper program and as a hockey coach.
Recently, she volunteered with Campbell River Emergency Services and was valued member of Altrusa, where she enjoyed reading to Kindergarten students, baking muffins for the Cedar School breakfast program, and organizing the Golden Girls Tea for seniors.
In 2018, she was presented with Rotary's Paul Harris Award which acknowledges those who have made significant contributions in their community.
Chris' love and kindness touched all those around her. She was selfless, spending her life caring for others and finding joy in time spent with family and friends.
Chris is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Don Perras. She is survived by her son Troy Perras (Kerri), daughters Michelle Woytenko (Michael) and Karen Perras (Gabriel), grandchildren Jared, Trent, Alex, Kayla (Michael), Eliah and Kaydon, and sister Louise Feist (John).
She also leaves other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Campbell River Altrusa Club.
