Charles Sidney Pigeon

November 12, 1917 –

December 12, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Sidney Pigeon on December 12, 2008. Sid will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Winnifred, his extended family; Sandy (Maureen) Blackwell, Neil (Gail) Blackwell, Susan (Don) Wallace, Margaret (Ed) Milne, and his son Barry; his grandchildren, Jacqueline, Nicholas, Michael, Cassandra, Ken, Tiffany, Amanda, Eddie, Diana and Niki, Devin (predeceased), Charles, Trina, Steven, as well as numerous great grandchildren and his best friend Sammy, who will miss those scooter rides down by the river.

Sid was born in Dog Creek, B.C. on November 12, 1917. He spent most of his life in Williams Lake, where he ran a successful business and was an active member of the Shrine Club. Sid served in the Canadian Army from May 1942 to December 1946. Sid and Win retired to Penticton, B.C. and eventually settled in Kamloops. In his retirement years Sid became an accomplished gardener, and leaves a legacy of beautiful roses in his gardens in Williams Lake, Penticton and Kamloops to remind us of his love. Sid also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved sitting in a boat with a rod in one hand and a beer in the other.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kamloops Alliance Church, 233 Fortune Drive, on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 1:00pm officiated by his grandson Edward Milne.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully received to your local food bank in memory of Sid.
