In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts the family of Rick Borhaven announce his passing Sept 17, 2022. Rick was born to Fredrick Christen & Roxy Isabell Borhaven Aug 13, 1933 in Vancouver, B.C. Rick's love of machinery and all things mechanical led him to the coastal logging camps via the union steam ships out of Vancouver as a young man. He drove off highway logging trucks for high lead shows at Jenn's Bay, Ruby Creek and Harrison lake in the 1950's and early 1960's.
In 1965 Rick moved his young family, wife Emily and 3 daughters Kathy, Christine and Sharon to Lac La Hache. His work there with his Blue Kenworth Truck (Snowflake) and his Terex loader ("The Do-All") was the beginning of his own contracting company, which became well known in the area during the 1970's and 1980'5.
In the mid 1980's, Rick met the love of his life and partner, Nori and they settled along the Fraser River. There he was happiest, tinkering on many things, often dropping anything he was doing to help a friend or family member with their machinery or mechanical problems. He was truly a caring, selfless man.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Fredrick & Roxy, brothers Roger, Rollie and Bobbie, sisters Libby, Willa and Norma, ex-wife Emily and daughter Kathy.
He is survived by his partner Nori, sister Helen, daughters Christine (Dave) Miller and Sharon Borhaven, step daughter Debbie (Clancy) Wright, Stepson Percy (Gail) Ogden, stepdaughter Patti (Ingo) Grady and numerous nieces, nephews, grand children and great grand children.
He was well liked and loved and will be greatly missed by many.
We love you Rick
