July 5, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Chuck Wiggins announce his passing on July 5, 2018.

Chuck was born in Williams Lake and was raised on the family ranch in Miocene. When he graduated from high school he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and proudly served for the next 13 years. While Chuck was stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, lnge. When he finished serving in the Air Force he returned home to the family ranch with his wife and children. There he continued to ranch for the rest of his life. After he retired from the RCAF he became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Chuck was also a long-time employee of the Williams Lake Stockyards and in his retirement enjoyed going in to visit and check out the sales.

Chuck was very involved with the Miocene Community Club and served on the Executive for many years. He was one of the founding organizers of the Miocene Fall Fair and the Miocene Father's Day Auction. He enjoyed running the Horseshoe tournament at the auction every year.

He also volunteered his time to be a leader for the Rose Lake Miocene 4-H club and spent countless hours helping the children with their projects. Chuck started the Miocene Bingo nights and in later years enjoyed spending time playing cribbage at the Hall. Chuck received the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada because of his years of service in the RCAF and in his community.

Family was very important to Dad. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. In his spare time, he spent hours researching the family tree. Chuck was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Wiggins, his brother Garnet Wiggins, and his sister Alva Ford.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years lnge, his children Heidi (Tom) Redl and Barbara (Darren) Koch, and his grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Lexie, Erin and Kayla.

Out of respect for Dad's wishes there will not be a funeral service. An Open House will be held at the Miocene Community Hall on August 19, from 3-5 pm. Donations in Chuck's memory would be gratefully accepted by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
