DI MARCO, Catherine (Peirone)
1910 - 2010
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2010 in her 100th year. A life-long resident of London, Ontario, she was predeceased by her parents Stefano and Domenica Peirone, her husband of 42 years Joseph (1974), daughter Mary Scott (2007), great-grandchild Aaron Di Marco (1998), and her brother Carlo Peirone (1929).
She will be sadly missed by those who knew the depth of her love, especially her children, Joseph (Marlene) of Williams Lake, Stephen (Mary) of London, Paul (Angela) of Niagara Falls, and her son-in-law Jack Scott of London. Also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Michael Di Marco (Kusum), Jeff Di Marco (Cheryl), Carol Hill-Lonergan (Martin), John Scott, Joe Scott, Marianne Louttit (Paul), Stephen Di Marco, Joe Di Marco (Lori), Cheryl Pollard, Colleen Montheith (Gary), Vincent Di Marco (Cheryl), and Christopher Di Marco. She leaves behind, as well, 18 great-grandchildren.
Catherine was immensely proud of her family and enjoyed countless celebrations with them and was deeply committed to her church, serving a term as President of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica.
An extra special thanks to the staff at McCormick Home for the care, support and comfort they have given since 1996.
Visitors were received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Prayers were Tuesday at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Michael’s Church, 511 Cheapside Street on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 11am. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
