On Tuesday, December 24 2019, Betty Jefferson, loving wife of Dan Jefferson, and Mother of 4 children, passed away at the age of 89.
Betty was born December 18th 1930 to Agnes and Tom Struthers of Westwold BC where she was raised with her siblings.
On April 11 1953, she married Dan Jefferson of Big Lake BC, and it was there she raised her 4 children, Clarence, Cora, Deb and Bob.
Betty loved to pour through recipe books looking for something new to make, going for drives in the countryside, gardening, canning, the ranching lifestyle and a good game of crib. Betty loved to tease and kid people and was known for her quick wit.
She ran the Big Lake Post Office for a number of years in the 1960's, and occasionally cooked in logging and mining camps, starting her cooking career at Douglas Lake Ranch, - Chapperon Division in the late 1940's.
She is survived by her husband Dan, Sister Cecile/Lawrence, Children Clarence/Heather, Cora, and Deb/Gary, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her youngest son Bob in 2013, her parents, and her siblings Sonny, John, Grace, Ben, Walter and Mathilda.

A funeral service is planned for Betty on January 10th 2020 at the Sacred Heart Church in Williams Lake at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
