Barbara Ann McAllister passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Williams Lake, BC on September 19, 2019 at the age of 66.
Barb is survived by her mom, Darlene Oldershaw; siblings: Dawn Best (Curt) and Darlene "Cricket" Langlaois; Natasha Handel (niece), nephews Craig and Dale Best (Keri), Aunt Sherry and Gail and great niece Brooklyn.
Barb was born on March 6, 1953 in Vancouver, BC to Darlene and Mel Paton. After moving to
Williams Lake, Barb worked in a group home for The Association for Community Living.
Barb formed long lasting relationships with everyone she worked with and cared for. The Association for Community Living was her second family.
Barb loved her cats, family, friends, co-workers, pajamas and her pink flamingo housecoat. She was passionate about politics, music, collecting rocks and crystals. Barb also loved to have a cup of tea and socialize with friends.
A Celebration of Life for Barb will be held in the Spring. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barb's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Williams Lake Hospice or S.P.C.A. Barb's family would like to thank Deni House Staff, C.M.H., Dr. Radhi, the staff at Yorston Clinic, Save on Foods Pharmacy team, Williams Lake Hospice Society and the Northern Health Bus for all of their efforts to make Barb's last months as comfortable as possible.
