In Loving Memory ~

Arthur (Art) James Herman passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024 at Cariboo Memorial Hospital at the age of 83, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife Carol, son Ray (Oleene), daughters Paula (Mike) & Pam, sister Donna, in-laws Steve, Mable, Stella, June & Diane, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

He was predeceased by his parents Dave & Mary and a number of in-laws.

Art was born in 1940 and grew up on the family farm near Rhein, Saskatchewan. After school he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1960. He spent two years in the RCAF and he was very proud of his service.

In 1962, Art married Carol Kardynal. Work transfers took them through Ontario, where their children were born, then back to the prairies and finally to Williams Lake in 1975.

Art believed in community involvement and he spent many hours volunteering for Boy Scouts, Kinsmen, Stampeders & Mustangs Hockey Clubs, the Men's Fastball Association and the City's Advisory Planning Committee.

Art had a great sense of humour and enjoyed a good laugh. He also loved sports - particularly baseball/fastball, curling and CFL football as a loyal fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was also a single-digit handicap golfer earlier in adulthood.

In keeping with Art's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to the charity of your choice.
