Arne Karl Erikson passed away on December 20, 2009, at the age of 61. He is sadly missed by his wife Ann, and his children Hana (fiancee Tyler) and Jesse. He is also survived by his four children: Pam, Jeff, Sara (Ron) and Ben from his first marriage, as well as five sisters: Deanna (Sonny), Connie, Kathy (Doug), Linda (Tom) and Karen (Gaffi). Arne was predeceased by his father Karl, his mother Dorothy and his sister Tyra.

Arne was born in Burns Lake, BC and spent most of his childhood living in various communities in the north, where he explored the forest and mountains, learning many life long skills.

Most of his adult life was spent skidding in the bush, a job at which he always strived to be the best. He carried this philosophy into sales, as his health dictated a change in careers. Boxing Day 2001, he was fortunate to prolong his life by receiving a heart transplant. This enabled him to see his children grow up and graduate from school.

His life was his family, hunting, fishing and country music. He was a “man that filled a room”. Arne had a sharp intellect, and a great sense of humour, a combination that produced a gifted story teller. He was a kind and generous man, who was always willing to help others.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 30, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Miocene Hall with Pastor Apperloo officiating.

Arne will be missed by his family that love him dearly and his many friends and acquaintances. Farewell Paps! We love you!
