We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Albert Joseph Horvath on February 22, 2024 at the age of 77

Born April 3, 1946 in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. Growing up on a farm in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. In 1960 Albert was 14 at the time Josef and Elsie moved their small family to McBride, BC. This is where met his soulmate Betty Edstrom. May 1966, they married and shortly after moved to Williams Lake. September of that year they welcome daughter Yvonne. 6 1/2 years later they welcomed son Richard.

Albert worked more than 3 decades in the forestry industry. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and loved fishing. At some of our local lakes and also spent plenty of time river fishing in Bella Coola or out in the ocean.

Albert is predeceased by his parents Josef and Elsie, daughter Yvonne, sister Evangeline, sister in-law Gaylene.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty, son Richard and 4 beautiful granddaughters Mandee, Tamara, Dani-Addison, and Jaidynn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the physicians and nurses at Cariboo Memorial Hospital who cared for Albert during his final days.

At his request there will be no service. Family will plan a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu flowers donations can be made to BC Cancer Society or Canadian Angelman Syndrome Society (CASS) in his memory.
