In accordance with section 20(1) of the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation (FPPR), the proposed major amendment to the Tolko Industries Ltd, Cariboo Woodlands Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) 780 is publicly available for review and comment commencing March 21, 2024 for a period of sixty days.

The proposed changes are being made pursuant to Sections 29(a) and 29(b) of the FPPR. The amendment proposes to make a material change to approved Forest Development Unit (FDU) 1 and to create a new FDU 2, which includes area within the existing Esk’etemc area-based tenures that were previously part of FDU 1. In addition, the amendment proposes to make material changes to the results and strategies for FDU 2 that do not qualify as a minor amendment. Specifically, the amendment is being made to modify, add, and replace the results and strategies within FDU 2 for Wildlife and Biodiversity – Landscape Level, Seral Stage, Visual Quality, and Grassland Habitats. The FSP amendment, prepared jointly by Alkali Resource Management Ltd. and Tolko Industries Ltd., will be available for review and written comment until May 21, 2024 at either the Tolko Cariboo Woodlands office (180 Yorston St., Williams Lake, B.C., V2G 3Z1) or the Alkali Resource Management Office (PO Box 78, 1035 Esket Drive, Alkali Lake, B.C., V0L 1B0) during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm).
