Williams Lake RCMP are searching for a suspect after receiving a report of an armed robbery at the CIBC on Oliver Street at 3:41 p.m Friday.

Police said witnesses informed that the suspect entered the bank, produced a note demanding money and motioned to concealing a gun on his hip.

He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 25 to 35 years old, five feet and six inches to five feet eight inches tall and weighing 160 to 180 pounds.

Video surveillance at the bank shows he was last seen wearing a red wig, a denim vest over a dark jacket, beige pants and black running shoes.

General duty officers along with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Unit and General Investigations Section conducted extensive patrols throughout Williams Lake and canvassed many neighbouring businesses.

RCMP victim services have been offered to the bank employees who were not injured during the incident.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who has any information that may assist the RCMP, is urged to contact the Williams Lake RCMP GIS unit at 250-392-6211, or to remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at www.crimestoppers.ca.
