Original story

The brake check just north of Williams Lake is the scene of a police investigation Monday morning.

Two RCMP vehicles with lights flashing are station in the area along Highway 97; one at the north entrance of the brake check and another at the top of Commodore Crescent.

Beside each vehicle is a blue tarp stretched out over the snowy road and shoulder of the road. As well, a police tent is set up at the north end of the brake check near the entrance and one of the police vehicles.

Drive BC has reported the brake check is closed, which was confirmed by Williams Lake RCMP OIC Insp. Jeff Pelley early Monday morning.
