Williams Lake RCMP responded to a reported armed robbery at the Husky gas station on Broadway Avenue South on April 18 at about 1:11 a.m.
The lone male suspect was wearing a mask and brandishing a knife.
Police dog service and RCMP responded, and arrested a male, who fit the description, a few blocks from the gas station.
The adult male is a Williams Lake resident, not previously known to police before this incident.
He was released on strict conditions. Charges are being recommended to Crown Counsel, the RCMP said.
