Williams Lake Indoor Rodeo gets council support

City council has approved unanimously that the city and union will donate equipment for the purpose of hauling dirt into the arena.

City council has approved unanimously that the city and union will donate equipment for the purpose of hauling dirt into the arena during the 2015 Williams Lake Indoor Rodeo, taking place April 17-20, and the use of a loader to remove earth at the end.

“I think this speaks to the partnership that the city and the Indoor Rodeo Association has,” said Coun. Jason Ryll at a recent city council meeting.

“It’s an economic generator for the community and something we should look at long-term.”

Agreeing, Coun. Laurie Walters said it was awesome the city and union were working together and providing volunteer time.

“I’d really like to acknowledge them [the union and city] for that,” Walters said.
