The Williams Lake Fire Department responded to a fire on a fire power pole located above the river valley on the south side Tuesday, May 23.

Fire Chief Evan Dean said it could have possibly started because of a bird’s nest.

One truck from the fire department responded.

“Hydro was on site and de-energized before we extinguished,” Dean said. “They will be replacing the pole.”

Dean said over the weekend the department received a few burning complaints and that residents extinguished a small wildland fire in their Glendale neighbourhood on Saturday, May 20.
