A parade and a touch rugby competition are part of a welcome home reception taking place this Saturday for Williams Lake's own Olympian Kayla Moleschi.
Moleschi and her Canadian Womens Rugby Sevens team won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
She was the only B.C.-born player on the roster.
"Kayla is a great ambassador of the game of rugby and for Williams Lake," said city councillor Jason Ryll, who is helping organize the homecoming.
"We are inviting everyone to come help recognize and appreciate Kayla's accomplishments."
There is a short timeline to plan something due to the fact Moleschi is arriving home suddenly this week, but Ryll said he didn't want to wait.
"We wanted to try and have it fresh in everyone's minds."
Ryll envisions a short parade with half a dozen to 10 long-time supporters of Kayla with vehicles accompanying her.
The parade will leave from city hall, go down Borland Street and up Third Avenue to Marie Sharpe elementary school.
At the school local dignitaries Mayor Walt Cobb and Cariboo Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett will share some words.
"Kayla is making herself available for photo ops to anyone who wants their picture taken with her and her medal," Ryll said.
Afterwards there will be an introduction to rugby workshop, followed by a touch rugby competition.
The parade will depart at 10 a.m. and it is anticipated the entire event will go until 2 p.m.
