Williams Lake RCMP say three people were arrested Saturday during a wedding reception at the Elks Hall because of fighting and assaults.

One person is in hospital with a substantial head injury after a wedding reception held at the Elks Hall in Williams Lake Saturday evening got out of hand.

Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron told the Tribune Monday that police were called to the Elks Hall on Aug. 20 with a report that someone might have had a gun.

"Members attended, did a search, and no gun was found," Byron said, noting three people were arrested as a result of fighting and assaults.

The incident is still under investigation, Byron added.
