Walt Cobb has announced he is running for mayor.
Cobb, who made the announcement Wednesday, says he expects an interesting municipal election in Williams Lake.
"There is a growing level of concern in the community regarding budgeting and spending decisions that are seeing increased property taxes," Cobb says.
In the past, Cobb has served as an MLA for four years, mayor for six years, and councillor for 10 years.
Mayor Kerry Cook announced last year her intentions to the run in the 2011 municipal election.
At that time, she told the Tribune she is running since there are numerous projects that the current council has started and she would like to see them continue.
