Residents are being asked to be cautious when walking the trails at Scout Island in the coming days and weeks after several reports of a black bear seen on the south island.

Witnesses were quick to post to social media to warn walkers to be careful as did City staff.

Walkers in the area are asked to be mindful and keep pets close and on a leash.
