Vehicle theft lands two youth in custody

A police foot chase into the Tolko log yard early Tuesday resulted in officers catching two youth suspected of stealing a vehicle.

A police foot chase into the Tolko log yard early Tuesday morning resulted in officers catching two youth suspected of stealing a vehicle from Pearkes Drive.

Staff Sgt. Del Byron said officers were quick to respond to a complaint of the vehicle theft minutes earlier at 3:18 a.m. Tuesday, with police locating the suspect vehicle travelling south on Highway 97.

Byron said the two youth, aged 15 and 16, were arrested following a brief foot chase and RCMP are recommending charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of break and enter tools.
