A Taseko Gibraltar Mine maintenance worker who was flown to hospital Wednesday morning after he was involved in a collision was released from hospital later in the afternoon with non-critical injuries, Taseko vice president of engineering Scott Jones told the Tribune Thursday.

One person is in hospital with undetermined injuries after a collision between a five-ton service truck and an empty haul truck at Taseko Gibraltar Mine Wednesday at around 7:45 a.m.
"The individual was conscious, but he was extricated from the service truck by mine rescue personnel and then was transported to hospital in Kamloops," Taseko vice president of engineering Scott Jones told the Tribune Wednesday afternoon. "We are still currently waiting for an update on his condition and are hoping there was no serious injury there."
RCMP were notified, responded and were on site investigating the scene of the collision, Jones said.
"We certainly take the safety of our employees very seriously and we will be conducting a thorough investigation as well," he added.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron said police were notified of the incident at 8:11 a.m.
