Update:

The Conservation Officer Service (COS) has caught the person who killed a buck with an arrow in Williams Lake last week.

Conservation officer Darrell Ashworth said Friday they received two calls identifying the shooter after the story went up on the Tribune's website on Tuesday.

Original story

The Conservation Officer Service (COS) is looking for information after a buck was found shot with an arrow from a crossbow inside city limits near the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club.

Conservation Officer Darrell Ashworth said the dead buck was probably shot overnight Thursday or early Friday, and was discovered in between Highway 20 and Fairview Drive on private property.

“The deer was gutted and there was some evidence left on the arrow,” Ashworth said as he encouraged anyone with information about the incident to call the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
