Update: Babin arrested on outstanding warrants

Update: The Dawson Creek RCMP arrested Joel Babin Thursday, Nov. 13, just after 1:00 p.m. after the Williams Lake RCMP issued a notification earlier alerting the public they were looking for him.

The Williams Lake RCMP are searching for a 47-year-old fugitive believed to be dangerous.

Wanted out of Williams Lake, Joel Babin has three outstanding warrants for his arrest in relation to offences including assault, breach of an undertaking, driving while prohibited and driving while disqualified.

Babin was last known to be in the Chetwynd area in the early morning hours of Nov. 13 and is described as being five-foot-10 inches tall and 165 pounds with dark shoulder-length hair and brown eyes with a possible moustache.

“He is currently considered armed and dangerous,” said North District media relations officer Cpl. Dave Tyreman. “Do not approach him. Immediately call 911.”
