Union and management reach tentative agreement at Gibraltar

At the eleventh hour a tentative agreement was reached between the Canadian Auto Workers Union Local 3018 and Taseko Mines Ltd. Dec. 18, moments before the union was set to walk out on strike at Gibraltar Mine, northeast of Williams Lake.

On Dec. 11, the union had issued a 72-hour strike notice.

C.A.W. national representative Bruce Snow said this morning the tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the members.

"We're moving to ratify over the next couple of days so we should be able to announce whether or not we have ratification by Saturday."
