On May 4 and 5 the Ulkatcho First Nation voted in its chief and council. Zack Parker won in the run-off election for chief by two votes, 190 to 188 over Allen Louie. The council slate will be filled by Rhonda Cahoose, Gertie Capoose, Gary Holte, Corrie Peeman, and Harvey Sulin.A total of 15 individuals put their names forward for councillor and seven for chief. Voter turnout for the May 4 election of counsellors and chief was 54 per cent; turnout for the May 5 run-off for chief was 57 per cent.
