A Dodge pickup truck was stolen from the Gustafson's Chrysler dealership, sometime overnight Sunday.

A Dodge pickup truck was stolen from the Gustafson's Chrysler dealership, sometime overnight Sunday, said Williams Lake RCMP Insp. Warren Brown Monday morning.

"Another Dodge pickup had been broken into the parking lot however it would appear that the culprits were unable to start it," Brown stated in a press release.

At around midnight, while on patrol, a member of the Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services observed a pickup travelling westbound on Highway 20 at a high rate of speed. By the time the police officer was able to turn his vehicle around, the vehicle was no longer in sight, police said.

"A short distance away, the officer came upon this vehicle that had smashed into the Sheep Creek bridge guard rail at a high rate of speed. The vehicle sustained severe damage as did the guard rail."

The investigation revealed that this vehicle had been recently stolen from Gustafson's. Two adult males were arrested at the scene. One had a minor cut on his head from the impact of the vehicle. Both are presently in police custody pending charge approval.
