Two arrested following Tuesday robbery

Two adult males were arrested after a break in and robbery Tuesday afternoon in Williams Lake.

Two adult males were arrested after a break in and robbery Tuesday afternoon in Williams Lake.

At 4:20 p.m. on Jan. 28 the Williams Lake RCMP received a report of a break in and robbery in the 1100 block of Second Avenue North.

Police obtained descriptions of two suspects from the victim and a witness and then moments later, tracked the suspects to a nearby residence on Mackenzie Avenue, the RCMP said in a press release Wednesday.

"Both suspects were located inside this residence and were arrested without incident for robbery, break and enter, and some additional related offences."

Stolen property was recovered and police said they will be recommending charges to Crown Counsel against the two accused.

Both adult males are from Williams Lake.

“Thankfully no one was injured in this incident and if it were not for the courage of the victim and the witness, the police likely would not have apprehended the suspects as quickly as they did," said. Insp Warren Brown, Williams Lake Detachment Commander. “As a community, we need to look after our neighbours to ensure we are safe. I encourage anyone who has information or knowledge of a crime to report this to the Williams Lake RCMP or to Crime Stoppers. Together as a community, we will continue make Williams Lake a safe place to live and prosper.”
